Balaustine (the flower of a pomegranate, typically seen in Middle Eastern cooking) celebrates the rich history of the cuisine along the Barbary coast and its neighbouring Middle Eastern countries. The cuisine is diverse whilst having a degree of similarity with regional twists.
Balaustine is a buzzy home to one of the most prominent food cultures serving vibrant, spice-filled dishes and punchy Middle Eastern-inspired cocktails. Fresh, bright flavours and bold textures are the signature, with meats and vegetables cooked to smoky succulence on the char-grill, alongside intricate salads, fluffy fresh breads and traditional yoghurt-based dips. Arabic coffee, the most popular form of coffee brewed in the Middle East, is ingrained within the culture – we strive to continue this tradition and serve the finest Arabic/ Turkish coffees in traditional coffee pots.
Ultimately, Balaustine aims to provide a place to gather; a place to meet and socialise together with family and friends, to share small plates of traditional and modernised versions of Middle Eastern cuisine, with vibrant cocktails and a friendly atmosphere.
